Commission notes
-
Commissions are accepted in limited numbers each year to maintain the integrity and pace required for archival watercolour work.
Once annual capacity is reached, inquiries are held for the next release period.
-
Each commission begins with a private review of the property and surrounding setting. Composition, elevation, and atmosphere are considered carefully before work begins.
All specific details will be sent via my contract before commencing your commission.
Clients are guided through the process with clear communication at each stage, allowing the artwork to develop with intention rather than urgency.
-
High-quality reference photographs are essential to the success of each portrait.
Guidance is provided following acceptance of a commission to ensure reference material accurately reflects the character, proportion, and setting of the property.
-
Due to the layered nature of traditional watercolour, commissions require time.
Typical completion timelines range from 3-10 weeks, depending on scope and scale. Estimated timeframes are confirmed at the time of acceptance.
-
One refinement stage is included to ensure the final work aligns with the original intent of the commission.
This stage allows for subtle adjustments rather than compositional changes, preserving the integrity of the artwork.
-
Each commission tier is created at a defined scale, selected to suit its intended presence within a home.
Framing guidance is provided upon completion. Clients may choose to work with their own framer or request to have it framed by Tara’s professional framer.
-
All works are produced using professional-grade pigments and 100% cotton archival paper, selected for longevity and stability.
When properly cared for, these artworks are intended to endure for generations.
-
Completed works are carefully packaged and shipped via Australia post.
International delivery is available, with arrangements confirmed prior to completion.
Additional details are provided privately following acceptance of a commission.
